The special environment found in Tuolumne County has been created, not only by the natural splendor, but also by the generations of families who have built valued relationships, traditions and attachments to this unique region. Respect for these principles has guided the creation of The Grand Yosemite National Resort and Spa.
Creating and Preserving Wetlands

The beautiful Tuolumne County and Yosemite region represent a natural environment that is unequaled throughout California. This magnificent region offers plentiful wildlife habitats, natural resources and a scenic gift that is offered to the thousands of visitors that enjoy the wilderness experience annually. The Grand Yosemite National Resort and Spa is based on a guiding principle of environmental sensitivity and preservation. Through thoughtful land use development and pro-active resource protection, the traditions of Yosemite Junction will be respected and enhanced. This plan will assure a lasting and beautiful “Gateway to Tuolumne County & Yosemite”.

The designers, architects, engineers and developers of The Grand Yosemite National Resort and Spa, along with the collaboration of local citizens, Tuolumne Utility District, various local and state agencies, Tuolumne County staff, and The Yosemite National Plan have created a residential and recreational environment that is based on tradition and preservation. The design team has considered each development alternative as it may effect and enhance the existing lifestyle and traditions of Tuolumne County. Environmental impact is of primary concern in a development of this scale and sophistication.

The design of The Grand Yosemite National Resort and Spa provides generous allocations (over 200 acres) of space for wetland protection, open space and special status species protection.
